Ceremonies, parades and a party for local patron saints

At the start of the New Year San Fulgencio celebrates its fiestas in honour of its patron saint of the same name and San Antonio Abad. This is the parish’s jubilee year marking 250 years of devotion to the Virgen del Carmen and the year of mercy announced by Pope Francisco in December.

Parish priest Francisco Berna Fuentes said these saints set an example of mercy with their lives to build a united community in peace. He noted they are also inaugurating a picture of Cardenal Belluga in the church, as a sign of acknowledgement and gratitude for the man who founded the village.
